iPhone 4 is Unlockable on iOS 4.3 Baseband 04.10.01, Confirms Dev Team

We were the first to break the news that iPhone Dev Team is working hard to unlockiPhone 4 on upcoming iOS 4.3 (bb 04.11.02 ?) using latest exploit, discovered by Sherif Hashim. Now, Musclenerd himself is confirming that they are trying to invoke vulnerable commands using ultrasn0w to unlock iP4 iOS 4.3 Beta3 on Baseband 04.10.01.

Current i4 unlock goal includes til 04.10.01 (4.3b3). Very weird situation…vuln cmds are there, trying to invoke them!

Alongside, they have identified easier method to unlock iPhone 3GS/3G on baseband 05.14 and 05.15 series. You will then be able to unlock your iPhone 3G[S] without updating toiPad’s baseband 06.15.00, which was little bit tedious for rookies.

@knusperkex ironically, the i4 unlock search has yielded 05.14 & 05.15 unlock 3G/3GS vectors… but i4 is 1st priority

Last week, even iPhone baseband hacker, Sherif Hashim confirmed that updated ultrasn0w should unlock iOS 4.3 baseband as well. Those who are living under the rock, the latest vulnerability will unlock your iPhone 4 device on all basebands including 02.10.04 (iOS 4.1 build 8B117) and 03.10.01 (iOS 4.2.1 build 8C148).

It is important to note that iPhone Dev Team is going to release unlock and not Geohot, as he doesn’t have exploit. Additionally, it will not be released immediately after the iOS 4.3 drops to public, but might take at-most 2 weeks. Most likely, iOS 4.3 will be released along with iPad 2 launch, so we can safely assume that by 15th March, you will be able to unlock your iPhone4.

  1. This post appears to get a great deal of visitors. How do you get traffic to it? It gives a nice unique twist on things. I guess having something useful or substantial to give info on is the most important factor.
